How does an outriggers work?

Expand the contact area
The outriggers increase the contact area between the equipment and the ground (usually 2 to 3 times that of wooden/metal pads), evenly distributing the weight of the equipment and the load pressure to prevent excessive local pressure from causing ground collapse. For instance, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) gaskets can withstand a single-point pressure of 15-18 tons /cm².

Anti-deformation support
The leg pads made of high molecular materials (such as UHMWPE or HDPE) have high rigidity and elasticity. They will bend but not break under extreme loads, ensuring the stability of the support surface and preventing deformation, effectively avoiding equipment tilting.

Wear-resistant and impact-resistant
Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (with a molecular weight exceeding 3 million) features high crystallinity and long molecular chains, endowing the pad with wear resistance six times that of carbon steel and an impact strength of ≥110kJ/m², capable of withstanding frequent loading and unloading impacts.

Self-lubricating and anti-slip design

Low coefficient of friction (0.07-0.11) : Reduces the resistance when the equipment moves and avoids displacement caused by vibration.
Surface anti-slip texture: Enhances grip through grooves or granular textures, maintaining stability even on slippery surfaces.

Resistant to environmental corrosion
The material is resistant to acid and alkali, moisture-proof and UV aging. It can still be used for a long time in damp, oily or chemically corrosive environments, and its service life is more than five times longer than that of wooden pads

Typical application scenarios

Heavy-duty equipment: When cranes and pump trucks are in operation, outriggers distribute hundreds of tons of load to the ground to prevent sinking.

Complex terrain: When working on soft soil or slopes, the center of gravity of the equipment is corrected by expanding the support surface.

Extreme environment: It remains resilient in an environment ranging from -40℃ to 80℃ and is suitable for polar or high-temperature mining areas.
